Kathy Jensen has been creating in 3D since the late 1980's. Inspired by crystals, fabrics, symbology and the metaphysical, she gives form to the inspiration, incorporating the things she loves into each sculpture. Often found are items such as Crystalline shards, fabulously detailed and unusual laces, antique and art glass, mosaic, the sheerest of rare silk and tiniest of gemstones with the lifelike form of the faery and wizard. The Santas came first when before long, these enchanting creatures led to her sculpture of the tiny female form.
"In sculpting the faerys, I found a deep inner healing taking place, a communication from my soul found expression".
Family and friends encouraged her to continue sculpting. Buddy and partner Maggie Newman, doll, bear and bead artist taught her to develop her art into a career . Carol Orsini, friend, fellow doll maker and web expert provided her with the knowledge to run the website.....www.kathyjensendesigns.com While her husband keeps the technical ends working.
Kathy's sculpture can be found in galleries and many private collections around the globe. Each is one of a kind created by her hands ending in a unique, highly collectable piece. Articles published include DOLLS magazine, also DOLL out of the UK. She has shown her work in shows across the Northeast. Kathy is a member of CYNDAG as well as a number of artist lists on the internet.
